Passport
CPV Division of the Ministry of External Affairs is responsible for
issuance of Indian Passport to the Indian Citizens. This document is issued
from 28 locations across the country and 160 Indian missions abroad. The
passport can be applied for in the passport office that has your present
address area in its jurisdiction. Specific information from particular
Offices, Missions can be accessed through Missions Page.
Austria
Visa validity and fees as follows for all categories:

Requirements for
Business Visa are the same as that of Tourist
Visa. The additional requirements are business correspondence; a letter of
invitation containing dates for the proposed visit; a guarantee that all
expenses will be borne by the sponsor in Austria (this must be faxed
directly to the Embassy) and a covering letter from the Indian company,
indicating the position held by the traveler, that the traveller is
proceeding on behalf of the company and that the company will finance the
visit.
Belgium
The validity of the
Tourist Visa is for 6 months from the date of
issue with maximum stay of ninety days. Processing time is 24 hours. Visa
fee is as follows:
One month- INR 990
Upto 3 months- INR 1320
Beyond 3 months- INR 1650
Documentation for
Business Visa is same as for tourist visa. In
addition, a covering letter from the Indian company, copies of business
correspondence / commercial documents / foreign exchange and a letter of
invitation from the Belgian associates are required. This letter of
invitation is to be sent directly to the Embassy from Belgium. Visa validity
and fees are as for the tourist visa. Processing time is 48hrs.
France
For
Tourist Visa, the applicant should have the processing time of
24 hours. Visa fee is French Francs 200 to be paid in equivalent to INR 1138
approx.
For
Business Visa, the documentation is same as above. Additional
requirements are: a covering letter from the Indian Organisation
recommending travel and providing professional and financial stability of
the company / individual, a letter of invitation from the associates in
France is also necessary. However, a recommendation from the French Trade
Commissioner or Indo French Chamber of Commerce can substitute for certain
above documents. Visa validity can be from 1 to 5 years with total stay of
180 days allowed in a year. This can be covered by multiple visits, but each
visit must not exceed 90 days.

Germany
If the applicant want to have
Tourist Visa, he should have proof of
funds, hotel bookings, itineary and certificate of current employment in
India. Visa is valid for 90 days. Processing time is 24 hours or more. Visa
fee is in Deutsche Mark 20 to be paid in equivalent to INR 1000.
For
Business Visa, the documentation is same as above. Additional
requirements are: a covering letter from the Indian business house promoting
travel, correspondence stating nature of business to be undertaken, a letter
of invitation from the business associates in Germany and a recommendation
letter from the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce.
Visa fee is as follows:
30 days-INR 1200
90 days-INR 1800
1 year- INR 2500
2 year- INR 4000
Italy
To get the
Tourist Visa, the applicant should have proof of funds
in form of foreign exchange at a minimum US$150 per day. This must be
endorsed on the passport by leave letter from the employer. In case of
family visit, sponsorship letter attested by the foreign registration office
of the Italian Police Station (Questura) of the locality of residence of
sponsor must be enclosed with visa documentation. Visa is valid for 90 days
and it is issued for a stay of 30 days. Processing time is one working day.
Visa fee is as follows:
30 days-INR 1250
90 days-INR 1750
For
Business Visa, the documentation and fee are as above.
Additional requirements are: an introductory letter from the company or firm
in India, indicating qualification of the applicant, purpose of the visit,
organisation to be visited, duration of the proposed stay and a letter of
invitation from the business associates in Italy to be faxed directly to the
Embassy. If the applicant is participating in any fair in Italy, then
evidence of the full payment of the stall advance and balance of remaining
fee is to be submitted. Visa validity, stay, fee and processing time are the
same as for Tourist Visa.
Spain
Indian nationals can obtain short stay visa for a period ranging from 1 to
90 days. Application for visa have to be submitted with the competent
Consular authorities.
Switzerland
For
Tourist Visa, the applicant should have proof of funds in the
form of foreign exchange endorsement on the passport or photocopy of
international credit card. In case of family visit to a relative or a
friend, the Embassy issues a guarantee form to the applicant to send the
form to the sponsor in Switzerland, who will approach the Catonal Police for
Foreigners for their visa, if approved the authorities will send approval
directly to the Embassy and a copy to the sponsor. Visa is valid for 90 days
and is issued for a maximum stay of 90 days. Processing time is 24 hours.
Visa fee is as follows:
Adults-INR 1100
Minors-INR 550
For
Business Visa, the application procedures are same as above.
Additional requirements are: a covering letter from the Indian organisation
as a proof of employment; a letter of invitation from the business
associates in Switzerland to be faxed directly to the embassy and proof of
business correspondence, income tax papers, bank statement etc can be
submitted if passenger is traveling for the first time to Switzerland. Other
details are as above.
