Places to
see Chinatown
Chinatown makes one feel that the area is steeped in the aura of eastern
mystery. It is a noisy, smelly yet very colorful place with countless shops
selling the best of seafood like shark fin among other mouth watering
delicacies.
Grand Palace
The 200 year old Grand Palace surprises everyone with its grandeur. The
buildings and temples within the complex are colorful and intricately
decorated with a massive mural of the Thai version of Ramayana. A mini-scale
replica of the ancient city of Angkor Wat in Cambodia is really wonderful.
Floating Market
The famous Floating Market is located at a distance of 80kms from Bangkok.
It is a picturesque market and provides incredible shopping experiences. The
shops here are filled with souvenirs, food and the exquisite Thai
handicraft.
Khao San Road
There were many good and cheap restaurants at Khao San Road offering
excellent Thai food. The major attraction of the market are the jewelry
shops selling some really exquisite silver jewelry items. Roadside Vendors
here sell beautiful knickknacks and CDs.
Night Markets
People throng to the night markets in Bangkok as these are the ideal places
to buy cheap gifts such as T-shirts, boxer shorts, bags, jewelry and wood
carvings.
