The holy shrine of Kedarnath
One of the twelve “Jyotirlingas” of Kedar Lord Shiva stand amidst the dramatic mountain scapes of the majestic Kedarnath range. The shrine of Kedarnath is amongst the holiest pilgrimages for the Hindus, located at altitude of 3584 mts. on the head of the river Mandakini. The Lingam at Kedarnath is pyramidal, unlike its usual form. A status of Nandi, the celestial bull stand at the enterance of the temple.

Helicopter service to kedarnath
Pawan Hans will be resuming operations from Phata & Agustmuni by 5-seater Bell 407/ Bell 206L4 Helicopters. Phata helipad is located beyond Agustmuni and is also linked by a good motorable road on the way to Kedarnath. The helipad is on the left of the road located at 6000 feet height (approx).
From May/June season Pawan Hans has introduced a helicopter service from Dehradun heliport also to the shrine via Phata/Gauchar. This recently built heliport at Dehradun is located on the road Sahastradhara.

Darshan time for devotees
Passengers would get one hour thirty minutes at Kedarnath for Darshan. Passengers who wish to stay overnight can take the last flight of the day at 1330 hrs. from Phata (depending on weather). Accommodation is available at Kedarnath which passengers should book directly.

Air Fare and Darshan Charges
The fare Phata-Kedarnath-Phata is Rs. 7,000/- plus priority darshan charges of the Shrine Rs. 1100/-. One way tickets are available for Phata-Kedarnath and Kedarnath-Phta at fares of Rs. 4,200/- and Rs. 2,800/- respectively. The fare Agustmuni-Kedarnath-Agustmuni (via Phata) is 14,000/- plus priority Darshan of Rs. 1100/-. One way tickets are available for Agustmuni-Kedarnath & Kedarnath-Agustmuni at Rs. 8,000/- and Rs. 6,000/- respectively. For infants less than 2 years the fare will be 10% of the ticket cost and no seats would be provided to the infants. There is no half ticket for children. Children above two years would be provided with full seats.
For the new service from Dehradun to Kedarnath (via Phata) the return fare is Rs. 25,000/- per person upto Phata. This service will connect with the Phata-Kedarnath shuttle. One way ticket to Phata from Dehradun is 15,000/- and one way ticket Phata to Derhadun is 10,000/- per person. The helicopter can also be charted from Dehradun-Phata and back to Dehradun for Rs. 1.25 lac plus service tax.
Other fares are as follows:
Dehradun to Gauchar Rs. 15,000/- per person
Gauchar to Dehradun Rs. 10,000/- per person
Helicopter services on charter basis (5 passengers or individual) for Char Dham like Badrinath Ji, Yamunotri (Overfly darshan only) and Gangotri can also be availed on case to case basis.

Passenger can only carry one hand baggage up to 5 Kg weight on the helicopter. They are required to abide by the security requirements and not carry prohibited items in their baggage.

If a flight is cancelled/ rescheduled due to bad weather, technical reasons, lack of passenger load or any other reason, the passengers are required to travel on their own. The liability of the PHHL will be limited to the refund of fare of the unutilized sector/s.
At Kedarnath, passengers would get assistance from Kedarnath Mandir Samiti Staff who would guide them for priority Darshan etc. As Kedarnath is satiated at a high altitude, some passengers may require oxygen, which is available at Phata.
